Self has been and is looking forward to June/July for a couple of reasons, mainly due to the brief respite from the hurtling pace, the load of activities lining up, and of course, in anticipation of the change in flux.

People are coming back this summer.

A personal opinion from me, though I believe that this resonates for many others as well. I am putting myself in the shoes of an overseas tertiary education student. For those who are returning to homeland (every year), with no doubt, the time back here is mainly utilised for catching up purposes, be it people or local delights. More so, I think that in this particular platform, as an overseas student, you stand a good chance of evaluating your emotional and sentimental desires, in terms of the people whom you would want to meet. For every reason, I believe that prior to boarding the flight home, a list of people must have been subconsciously drawn whom you would wish to meet dearly. The message is clear. The list is basically the group of people whom you like to keep as friends, something along that line. Not important, not included. Not withstanding the fact what time can do to people, and that ultimately it takes two to clap, nothing much could also be done if the other party doesn't make time for you. Let things be. The very fact that one is back only for a limited period of time, this time constraint factor somehow bears overarching inferences. I feel that an opportunity like this can indeed reflect a very true gauge of who you've selected and want as friends.

In addition, I suppose that there could lie the possibility of presence of fear within as you make your journey back home. The tingling fear of uncertainty, of feeling foreign, of being alone amidst once-close friends, of feeling distant. Never worry, because that's precisely the reason you're back. To bridge gaps, to re-connect again. And bear in mind that, the person on the opposite side could be feeling just that as well. Meat takes a while to thaw; and so do we.

In a similar fashion and from the opposite shore, I hope to see those coming back. It remains to be seen. I hope their return and subsequent meet-ups can cap off my would-be-wonderful vacation. Be the icing on the cake.
