Communication
You don't mean what you say. You don't say what you mean.
Intriguing isn't it. I have gradually realised the power of communication, and more importantly, communicating accurately. More often than not, we tend to ASSUME the receiving end understands exactly what we are saying, yet the fact is; NO. The key word is ASSUME. Assumptions can kill sometimes. Somehow, we seem to rely too much on them and we make an ASS out of U and ME. The simple truth is: I can't convey my exact words to you. Communication fails.
Hearing and listening are different. Listening requires effort to FEEL, empathise, to be mentally in it. Hearing basically is just ORHH. The distinction can be sensed. I suppose many at times we claim that we are listening, when we are actually hearing.
Win people's hearts in an instant? Wow. Sounds magical? Yea, I'm sure it does. I believe in that. Oratorial skills wield magic. They trigger the states of mind of people. Powerful forces are summoned as a result. Actions follow. Don't you think it's about developing rapport with that person? Now of course you have to be focused on what you are doing. Establishing that instant relationship is so possible. That doesn't mean you have to compromise your integrity. It is effective communication. LEtS aLL StArT lEaRnInG hOw tO coMmUnicAte.
Attended a course on Basic Customer Service Skills today. Pretty interesting. Links back to human behaviour. Lovely.
Anyways, rode a motorbike yesterday. Haha...quite an experience.
